  • anti rollover metal arch roll bar for old mechanical shovel construction advice.

hi, a farmer friend of mine bought an old mechanical shovel, a real wreck, an old bin, a wreck that he wouldn't even want to scrap, a war surplus, he thinks he's made a deal, I think the seller made the deal, not buyer . he got it as a service piece of equipment to use in the countryside for the farm. he asked me to build the anti-rollover arch like in tractors. he says he will use it in the country and is afraid of tipping over in some ditch. any implementation advice? how do I make the structure of the roll bar what material do I use, would it also take some headlights and a rotating flashing light, any advice? suggestions. thank you.

A ROPS is a good thing..... BUT IF you build it and he roll tractor, and it fails, you could be be sued for libel.... Personally its something I would not do unless I had a lot of confidence in my work....

if I find a used one from an old machine being demolished, I place it on it, I'm sure it was designed for the purpose, at most I apply the perforated plates for fixing. I have to inquire with some tractor mechanic.

If you are looking to add an anti-rollover metal arch roll bar to an old mechanical shovel, here are some construction advice to consider:
              1. Determine the appropriate dimensions: The dimensions of the roll bar will depend on the size of your mechanical shovel. Consider the height and width of the cab, as well as the overall dimensions of the machine.
              2. Choose a suitable material: The roll bar should be made of a strong and durable material, such as steel or aluminum. Make sure the material is thick enough to provide adequate protection.
              3. Design the roll bar: The roll bar should be designed to fit securely onto the mechanical shovel. Consider the placement of the bars to ensure maximum protection in the event of a rollover.
              4. Weld the roll bar: Once you have the design, it's time to start welding the roll bar. Make sure you use proper welding techniques to ensure a strong and secure weld.
              5. Test the roll bar: After you have finished constructing the roll bar, test it to ensure it is secure and able to withstand the weight of the mechanical shovel in the event of a rollover.
              6. Install the roll bar: Once you are confident that the roll bar is safe and secure, install it onto the mechanical shovel. Make sure it is attached securely and does not interfere with the operation of the machine.
              7. Perform regular inspections: It is important to regularly inspect the roll bar to ensure it is still in good condition and able to provide the necessary protection. Replace any worn or damaged parts as needed.

Remember that adding an anti-rollover metal arch roll bar can provide an important safety feature to your mechanical shovel, but it is still important to follow proper safety protocols when operating the machine.

thanks, we are looking for a suitable used one, thanks for the right suggestions, the problem would also be the perforated plates to be applied to the tractor of the machinery, to make it integral with the cage structure of the rops. Thank you
