  • Need advice on coreten sculpture

Hi everyone. This coreten sculpture's base was originally covered in what I believe is paint. The base is immersed in water and the silver coating is intended to match the stainless pond. I'm redoing the coating since much of it has peeled or is peeling off.

I wonder if anyone can suggest the best way to do this. I'm planning to wire brush (drill wire brush) off the remaining coating and then apply a new coat. The main question is what kind of paint should I use and is wire brushing removal of the cover the way to go?

Corten is a weathered steel alloy, not a clay.
