    Donald,
The third photo looks like a sad beat up face. Much like a defeated boxer or warrior. You will have to let us know what's in your minds eye while/when creating..
It looks a whole lot better now than when it was on the truck..

      Nothing about sad faces.
But you can find what you are looking for.
I used to work on the county roads and one guy always looked for cash on the ground -he found cash, usually along fences.

One guy always looked for jewelry- he found diamond rings. Usually in paper sacks. People take their rings off while they eat and put them in the bag.

I always looked for tools.I found tools. Usually near intersections.

You will find what you are looking for.

One day I was driving with a friend to go play guitar at this blues club.
My friend looked over at the car next to us on the freeway and saw a $100 dollar bill stuck on the radiator. I followed the car. When they got to the first stoplight I knew the bill would fall on the ground. It did and I ran out and got the $100 bill.

You can get what you look for.
The cool thing is we still made it to the gig on time.

The next photos of the sculpture will be after sandblasting and some painting.

The best place for tools is at an intersection where the cars and trucks turn right or left in a continuous motion. The tools fall from the vehicles....

I once found a rolex in a duffel bag in a dumpster. Sold that to the jeweler.
So little time...So many machine tools.........

As I drive if I see a tool in the road I will go around the block and pick it up. But most of the time it's made over seas and I am not talking about Germany ether..
I did find a Singer sewing machine in a dumpster once. It was a small one made out of bakelite listed and sold on eBay..Found a like new BMW1150R gas tank listed on CL a guy from across the state bought it.
I am not too proud to pick up a penny some one threw out..

            Donald,
are you familiar with the work of Richard Stankiewicz? Your work reminds me of his.

He has incorporated some very difficult objects into his constructions.

No problem. There is a book out there about Stankiewicz called "Miracle in the Scrap Heap". That's where I learned about his work. It's an interesting book. If you can get a copy of it it's worth reading. I found a copy at my local library. Perhaps you can too.

I'm back. And with a better understanding for viewing abstract art. I now find "Still Raining" very pleasing to the eye. "Gary's" is nice too. The question is though, will Donald Branscom ever return to this thread?

Yes I will be participating now.
I moved to Tucson from California.
I am working on a figure sculpture and I got
great pieces of metal that a mobile 600 ton Alligator shear cut.
