I bought the 500i because of the multi-voltage plug. It should be arriving today, what kind of consumables should I stock up on for the plasma cutter?

Ok, thanks guys, I would have gone with the 700i but I think I can make really good use of the 120v option on the 500i MVP!

    Thanks for all the input!

Thinking of the Hobart Airforce 500i - is this a quality plasma cutter? would anyone get something different than this?

I will mainly be cutting 1/8 AL/Steel sheet metal and occasionally 1/4-3/8 steel/AL.

    Thanks -

Btw, I need to buy it tomorrow morning so I would appreciate quick feedback!
Since you are in a hurry go with the bigger unit 700i up to 1/2" so it should give clean cuts on 3/8"..

    Choice of Welders

Good choice - I had bought the H187, and about 6 months later wanted the spoolgun, so I ended up going out an buying the Miller 211, with Spoolgun.

Regarding someone's comment about the Miller being better???

Never had a problem with the Hobart 187 - my Miller died hard, after about 2 weeks. Fixed quickly by the LWS since they were a repair depot.

I just like to point that out to Miller versus Hobart bigots... I love both however.

I saw that but it said 11-16 days to ship, I need this by the end of the week.

Would anybody recommend getting the millermatic 211 with MVP and auto set over the Hobart 210?

There is a $60 difference in price spool gun included.

I would think the miller is naturally a better quality product since it seems to be the "industry standard". Would anyone disagree?

I kinda' like the way the hobarts look better, but that really doesn't matter that much does it???

Also, I can get any hobart stuff I need at tractor supply, another plus.

What path would you guys take? Hobart or Miller?
