  • Bicycle Chopper

    Hey all,
I was given a chopper style bicycle. The bike is in good condition overall
and I was thinking what a great platform to build a motorized bicycle.
Having no experience in motorcycle building or such my question is does anyone have any advice for a motor kit? I see a number of kits available at reasonable cost on the internet. Any experience in these kits or tips would be greatly appreciated. I have a good selection of tools and this would be a fun
little project. The bike even has some sick looking drag bars!

Could you post some pictures please, chopper bikes are pretty cool. My cousin had one, I got to ride it a few times. Don't have any idea who made it, but never saw one like it again and this was in the early 70's. It had fork length
of about 3 feet if I remember correctly. Very funky steering.

Mustang, Maybe your Cousin made it.
I remember yearrrrrrrrrrs ago when in grade school I cut off forks using a hacksaw off a bike frame and being hollow I slipped them over my bike forks and I drilled a hole and bolted them together. Hey instant "chopper" and you are right very "funky" steering.

I know he didn't make it, his dad bought it for him. Wish I had a picture of it.
Almost forgot, my brother in law made one a few years back. Got a pic of my son riding it.
