You have to be far more specific to get any answer to this. Area of fab, of country, company size, union or not, fitter or not, ... etc.

A good way to find out is search Craigslist in different cities in different states. Very easy to do. I'm in northern Colorado and wages will run anywhere from $12 to $25 an hour with lots of overtime available. Of course the oilfield welders make considerably more.

My suggestion is $30 as their salary and their working time will be 8 to 10.

I imagine a good shop is hard to find. Not great work conditions either. Just off minimum wage for salary.
