Reactive targets

I just started working with my 7yr old and paper is nice for hanging on the fridge etc but the young ones like to see it move and hear it make noise so I tossed this together today and took her out for some plinking....it worked out well and with some paint she is ready for another round

Ive been wanting to make something like this for a while but wasn't sure on what kind of metal to use and what calibers are suitable. I know pro shooters use frangible ammo and a very hard steel to reduce ricoshade. Any info would be helpful.

Hey guys....from an old 11Bravo....

we had to make some targets for Ingram Range in Dong du CHOUNG province, south korea once. the boys in 2nd ID wanted something that a .308 wouldn't tear apart....so we cut out some torso's from plate....made bases from big truck rims, like an 18 wheeler...and mounted the torso's on the bif coil springs. when a 168 grain hit that....it swang all over the place, but didnt break, cause of the give. it was also so heavy, the locals couldnt just walk off with the targets.
I figure, its all junk yard parts but the torso, and you can use whatever you want I guess for that. And also, the steel for the springs resisted the 30 cal really well.
