  • Got Gaps???

Midway on the door the gap was about an 3/16 to small from being bumped in the back from what looked like some sort of a tractor blade,,,so i figured a way to give it a stretch ,,welded a tab on the cab corner and cut a hole in it to slip a hook thru and on the front i used a body clamp and wal la,,If you think this looks dangerous it is,,,they always recomend when pulling with chains to put u blanket over them it in case it slips off,,i usally use my welding jacket,,,

    Jim...

did you actually use the clutch in the truck to do the pulling ???.

I wouldn't think you could have the accuracy you might get with a come-a-long... but creative thinking... I had to do something similar on my '53 ford... but we used a portapower in the door opening...

Hi John,,the portapower is the way to go in there,,,but i had to weld some tabs in other spots on the back panel for straighting,so i figured this way would be easier and i was able to keep the door closed so i could see how far i had to pull,,but i just pulled the slack out with the big truck and then used the come a long,,,
