  • cart finally finished

Well, my oldest daughter will not be home untill friday so that gave me today to work on the cart. I need to get around to painting it and I think I have most of the conveniences done.

I had to of this wire laying around. I knew someday I would find a good use for it. Came in real handy when I was looking for a way to hang some of the tools...

            Next project

This was pretty tough on my back and knees. Between the concrete floor and the make shift ladder for a get by welding table worked ok but now its time to start on the table. Hope to get a little time this weekend to start that one.

              Bob,

nice job... compact, well built... should serve you well...

do you love your leaf vacuum as much as I love mine ??
Mine was down last weekend and I cleared 1.5 acres with 75 oak trees...with a blower, rake and a tarp.. it was Wednesday before I could hold a glass of tea or raise my arms above my shoulder.. new impeller in the mail and I should be back in the super sucker business by Monday...

hurry up with pics of the table...I might want to steal some ideas !! I've got all the steel cut for a 2' x 3' roll around model... just don't have the time to do the work !! Might get started before the holiday weekend is over..

              later

                Bob,
                this is Bob,

Cart looks good. Does seem like you got it done way too fast. Guess you got the halogen lights with their own stand.

                  Thanks Bob

Hey Bob, thanks. Yes...was it you that suggested that? It sure works great. Also my bifocals were giving me problems, I can get by without unless I am reading so I took them off and that also helped. One of these days I will invest in a good adjustable auto shade.

I plans on starting on the welding table next. Then I have to build a 3 point tower for my dethatcher. After that I am going to build a 3 point core areator. I need to figure out where I am going to come up with the core plugs yet. I might be able to order them from JD (the ones that fit the areators they make).

Welp daughter just got home from college so I have to run.

                    cart

Thanks John, I forgot how much I enjoyed doing this stuff. Just got way to busy with other things. I still have my buzz box that I bought 25 years ago. I haven't used it since transfering to Lansing 8 years ago. I plan on running 220 for it next weekend. My air compressor is 220 so should be a breeze.

I just bought that chip - vac last april. I love it and so do my neighbors. This fall I took care of 7 lots here in the sub. I have lots of maples and oaks here thus a ton of leaves to get in the fall and again in the spring.

                    Take care

                    Bob

Great job, Bob! Nice and compact...that will be important when you add more machines to your weld shop!

                        cart

Thanks Rocky, My space is limited at the moment. The welding table will be 48 by 30 with wheels on one end so I can move it off to the the side of the garage when I am not using it. We are planning on moving back to the country in the next couple of years and I will have a pole barn again. I use to have a wood shop and a limited welding area but I transfered and ended up buying in a sub. I will be starting on the table probably later today once I get the kinks worked out of my back (lower back problems have always been a problem with me).

Here's a pic of my welding table...notice the pins into the concrete...keeps the table from moving when I bend something in my $36 vise from HomeDepot.

                            Bob,

My 6 year old son just saw a picture of your cart. He said Dad thats a cool looking thing that someone built. He especially liked the RED box sitting on top of it. No matter how hard I try to convince him that a BLUE machine is better, he still wants thered machine. Last year, his Christmas list had a Lincoln SP 175 on it, and after seeing your machine he asked if he was going to get his RED welder for Christmas this year.

Thats to funny Dan, your kid must realy look up to you, and from the pic's from your bending brake you can tell he does. That kid can problably already weld better than I can.
                              Thanks
