  • Amrox BS450 Bandsaw?

Anyone run into these? Decided the hand hacksaw and sawzall didn't always meet my needs. When one of my co-workers heard I was looking at HF saw, he said he had a Taiwan saw he wasn't using. He is a woodworker who really wants a vertical saw with a bigger throat, and had goten the saw as a package deal with other equipment.

It looks like a typical "rice" unit with cheesey sheet metal legs. All the important parts are cast or heavy metal.
It looks much like the HF saws, and it has a clear vertical measurement of 4-1/2". He brought it to the shop, and we sliced off a piece of 3" pipe for a demo. Max use will likely be for up to 2" SCH40 and 1-1/2" angle, mostly smaller stuff and not heavy usage. Works fine, any comments? Thanks....................chim

Probably go with a variable speed treadmill to save belt changes. All you need to do is adjust the distance between the animal and the food. Of course, gotta let 'em get a bite once in a while to keep it from going out on overload....................chim

Yer gettin a whole lot smarter Mac, and that can be dangerous in a government employee.
Homemade cookies or store bought? Mine knows if she wants to get work outa me they gotta be homemade. ****, I plowed snow for an hour last night for a slice of cherry pie. She poured the can of pie filling into the frozen shell and baked it, and She Who Dreams of Being Obeyed says that IS homemade.

Oh yea, for Mac and the rest of you who don't know what 15" of snow in a 24 hour period looks like, see picture.

            Franz,

Looks like a vision of white **** to me. Just finished clearing the drive from a 4" snow shower with the Yamaha Grizzly and blade the wife said I needed because I was getting too old to use the snowblower. Love that woman!! Think I'll go out an buy her the cookies instead.

It sure was white **** at 3 this morning, the battery on my truck with the 9 foot plow was dead, and I pushed snow with the Yanmar 240D with a 7 foot straight blade hangin on the loader bucket. Light snow cause it was only in the teens, but that **** tractor don't have a cab or heater.
I'm definitely putting in for MORE pie!
My wife don't spend a nickle till she got the buffalo to fertilize her flower gardens, and then it's only worth 2 cents.

                Franz,

Are you up in the section of NY that gets dumped on from all the snow generated by the Great Lakes?

Sure am, if the wind comes out of the West, I get it from Lake Erie, and if it comes from the North, I get it off Lake Ontario. Fortunately, I'm close enough to Ontario that a lot of those storms go past me before they start dumpin.
Punch Zip code 14468 into Yahoo Maps, and you see where I am.
In 91, we got 4 feet of snow while I was layin in the hospital with a busted a$$, and my dalin calls me to inform me she can't get her car out of the garage cause of the snow. When I asked her how she expected me to get to the house and plow it, she got pissed at me for "bein so stupid". Then, she informed me all she needed to know was who to call to get the lane plowed, naturally, within the next 15 minutes. That was a chalenge since I haven't called anybody to plow snow in over 35 years. Half an hour later there was a truck plow and loader comin up the lane to open things up. I guess I have 2 good neighbors cause when I asked what I owed them they both told me nothin, cause neighbors are supposed to help each other.

Hey Jim, what would Dogzilla think of 15 inches of snow. I'll bet that would really cut his P-mail sessions short...

I just turned the office A/C back on because it is too warm outside.

I was staking a new visitors' trail here at Hoover Dam yesterday. I had to take off my long-sleeves and park my gov truck in the shade.

Which part of that picture was the snow again? You need to adjust your camera, the pic came out all white-lookin'

                          Bill;
15" of snow would probably be ok. If it got above about 20" He'd would have a hard time sending P=Mail
