  • Brake Drums (Mike Sherman will like this)

I remember a few weeks back, someone wanted ideas for a use for brake rotors. This isn't rotors, but I did find a use for drums. They make great bases for posts. This one is for a parking meter. I did three of these for my next door neighbor. Her father, brother and husband are all HD riders. She thought that these would make neat gifts. I have to agree!

            Mike,

Says to the left you and I are amoung the "senior members" of this site. I think free parking is one of our senior discounts. Maybe we can claim some more discounts?

I didn't fill it with concrete, but I see no reason that you couldn't. The meter isn't that top heavy that it causes a problem. I too am thinking of a grinder stand. I will probably go with a wheel for that, and fill it with concrete. I am thinking of adding a set of wheels that it could be tipped back and rolled around like a hand truck. With limited space in my shop, I am big into making things portable so I can stow it in a corner when not in use. As for the meters, I pick them up at an online auction site. They have alot of cool items. Check it out...

                Bob,

Try telling that to the meter maid in the black leather biker jacket...
