  • Small welding table

I built a small welding table a while back. The top is 3/8 plate and is about 24 by 36 inches. The frame is 1 inch 11 ga. and has expanded metal shelves to hold all of those welding tools that otherwise get lost in the shop.. It is big enough to actually do projects on and is still small enough to roll out of the way when it is not needed. For those looking for project ideas give this a try. It will cost about $60 for the materials.

If you make a lot of 90 degree welds on 1 1/2 or or smaller stock, these are handy tools to have. Got these from Grizzly. Less than $20 each as I recall.

By the way, this was my first project with my HH175 and if the welds look strong but ugly, it is just the poor photo quality.

AMEN BROTHER !!!! I know where your coming from. I've had the same problem with some of my photos.

Yea, isn't it funny how those photos can make make a good weld look so lumpy and ugly! Seriously though, I brought the welder home, and a half hour later I was welding up the table with the .030 fluxcore that came with the welder! That was a couple of years ago, and the the C25 and solid wire I now use (along with the MIG experience) produces much nicer looking welds. At that time I could have done a much nicer job with stick, even if I had welded it all with overhead welds! It is a strong table, but I sure don't use it to show off my welding skills.
