Hmmm, a lot of them are cast, but some are forged. If you suspect they are cast steel, I would recommend a stainless filler rod, or a special high-nickel rod designed for cast steel. Nickel flows into the pores and gives you better fusion on cast parts.

    welding c clamps

    Hey guys

I am going to build a welding fixture for building suspension pieces for my car. I am planning on modifing c clamps and put them on the fixture. What kind of material are they made of? What kind of filler rod do I need for my tig to weld on them.

    Thanks

    Todd
