  • American Chopper on Leno

Anybody see the Teutals on Jay Leno? Jay had them make him a cycle. They were actually pretty funny. David

Ya I saw it. It was pretty good, but they are less impressive with each bike. If they would start building there own frames so they didn't always look the same it would help some. As has been said before, "The people they buy the parts from and the people who finish the bikes off do some nice work".

I liked when Jay asked Jr how they got the nice curve in the tank and Jr answered "carefully" because he didn't build the tank. I don't think Jay understood that they don't build bikes, they assemble them.

It was a pretty nice bike.

        ****

I was half asleep when I thought I heard Leno say something about a motorcycle. I am sorry i missed it, but the show will be repeated 1:00 am - 4:00 am next week. I'll try to catch it then.

I know O.C.C. do not build everything from scratch. If they did, and I am sure Paul jr. could learn to bang out his own tanks and build his own frames, etc...but then the shop would be cranking out only a few bikes a year which would cost an extraordinary amount.
So there is a compromise. Farm out the painting and use off the shelf tanks and frames and produce more bikes per year.
By the way, What the **** does Paul sr. do besides yelling at jr?

It is always entertaining to watch them. There are more sparks flying off the two of them than from their welding....lol

You are right, but I would bet that some of that is encouraged by the producers to get viewers. I live only 1 1/4 hours from their shop, but they won't let in visitors while they are filming. My son really wanted to go.

Paul Sr. always screams about not putting a grinder face down on a table.....but them watches everybody tack weld without a helmet.

                it's all relative.

I though that bike was lame compared to some of the quality creative work they have done. I was waiting for something grand for Leno.

This is the bike they were asked to make a modern version of..

                    It's a Brough Superior..
same bike used in Lawrence of Arabia

I don't think they pulled it off..

That is a beautiful bike. I did not see the Leno show to see the one that OCC made. I only saw the lemo show that had the comanche bike.
