  • More from junk

More junk, I took the drops from the chop saw bench which I was going to pitch and made a tire tub from them. Would have taken 30 mins but I reweld the seams so they wouldnt trap water.

specail built trailer that normally is used to carry straw mulching machine for berries. Gets douple duty as parking lot shuttle at engine show. Special wheel width and Imron paint job. Treated board deck with sand/varnish finish for rough surface. I will show rear steps in a minute.

                  Sberry27,

Nice stuff. Looks like you have been busy.

You might want a sheet metal box under the cutting grate. Contain the mess and help prevent lighting shoes on fire. Could be light, might collapse for space when not used. Maybe hang on the grate with some wires.

Startin to look like S is takin lessons from RockyD with labels on the outlest and all.
I sure hope he has cable TV in the shop cause them rabbit ears won't work for crap inside a steel building.
Did you put a hold down bar on the tire tank to keep flotation tires in the water, or are you planning to fight them?

S when do you shut down berry pickin to mulch them?

I am just over from you in Michigan, berry season is long gone. Lasts about 3 weeks in June and I mulch to keep them up off the sand in the spring. I have a small bale grinder, feeds them on a conveyer thru a set of shredding knives, spits it out the back onto the rows. Them rabbit ears just sittin there, been too cheap to hook up satalite but do have outside antenna to feed the 5 tv's hahaha in this building.

Well S, the reason I was askin was because I ain't dealt with anything bu the eatin end of the strawberry business in over 50 years, and back then, all I was in charge of was pourin chicken**** water at the base of the plants. I also got to watch the brilliant experiment in using geese to weed the strawberrys go south, but that ain't important to this discussion.
Our season was late this year, and lasted about 3 weeks too, and I was quite surprized when my dalin hauled in a few quarts one day complaining the patch was gettin shut down even though there were plenty of good berrys still on the plants. When she informed me, I did what I'm best at, I looked stupid.
The grower told her he had to shut down when he did so he could do what he needed to to get the plants ready for next season. Good thing she didn't ask me what he needed to do, cause I was clueless, and would have had to take a ride over to have the guy I went to school with explain it to me.
