This one shows you how I chose to weld the stiffeners to the bending leaf. Once again don t run these to hot or you could warp the bending leaf.

This one is the completed assembly of the clamping leaf. Harold pay attention to the welds on this one they were done with my MM 210 with .030 E 70 S-6 and C 25 Parameters were 3 and 52. There should be enough fusion for the purpose of this joint. To hot of a weld would cause the clamp to start showing warpage.

This is a close up of the pivot point assembly. Originally, I was just going to slip the bolt in through all three holes. Then just tack weld the head of the bolt to the handle. In the end, I decided to weld a collar on to the handle, and use the set screw to hold the bolt in place. This way I can disassemble the machine for painting. I live in Oregon, were all it does is rain and rain and rain and rain. So a good paint job wouldn t hurt.
Also, hopefully you can see the thin washer that I have installed between the handle and the pivot point bracket.

These are the pivot point pins. There just some 1/2" bolts that I cut down. You do not want the threads in the hole on the pivot point bracket. This would cause the hole to wear very quickly. So make sure that the bolts are long enough so that when you cut them down you have a solid shank. I used 5" long stainless steel bolts.
Sorry this was somewhat Of a repeat of a previous post.Last edited by Dan; 10-07-2002, 01:59 AM.

This next picture is to show you the peice that I weld on to give me a surface for clamping the machine to the table. I haven t done it yet, but some time soon I will add a gusset between the two flat bars.

Finally Done: Dan's version of the bending brake
Finally got the metal bending brake finished. First I ll give you a look at a few parts I haven t shown yet. The first picture is of one of the nuts that I weld to the underside of the bed leaf.
After the two nuts cool I chase the threads with a tap.Tags: None
