Thanks for chiming in, 1990. I found the gap (see my updated post above for pic) and indeed you are right about the two insulated wires connecting to the PCB right near the HF gap being woven through that REALLY BEEG choke. .032" gap OK?

Now how can you call him that? I see three nuts and a washer in there! Nice work!

I didn't think this thread was still alive.

              • Cool cowboy! Try using horseshoe nails...they're flat and I've seen guys do some neat kinetics with them.

                  • Made this with the fiance for our wedding this summer. Instead of a guest book we made a wish tree, where people sign cards and hang them from the tree.

It's about 3' tall and used 56' of 1/4" hot rolled steel rod IIRC.

We've already got a few wedding rental places that already want to buy it, too bad it's sentimental.

                        • I can't call it 'art' but it might make a kool replacement for the old 'take-a-number' hand grenade.... Since grenades are sooo un-PC these days.

Looks uninviting, but it's welded solid, trust me.

                          • last one in the nail series a skeleton the rib cage looked better but my clamping system moved them around too much while i was welding the other side.

and i am aware that the house key head is some junk metal that isnt ment to be welded but the small tack works.

                              • I was really happy to get the email that the thread was still up and running. I figure the best way to keep it going is to add to the thread. I made this TV stand from 3/4" Stainless with my Hobart 140 and gave it a grinder finish because I love the way it looks on SS. The wood inserts are temporary until figure out something else to inlay into it.
