  • Unusual Wrench

I know this is not the place for this kind of message but I am desperate. I bought an unusual looking wrench today from a pawn shop and i've tried to run it down on the net with no luck except for the patent number of which I found out who the inventer is and what town and state he's in of which i can not locate this person in that town. The wrench is called a multi socket wrench or eight size box wrench. The wrench is metric and I would like to get an english version. I am attaching a picture. Please help!

            Kevent,
That is an interesting design. Do the ends swivel? They must somehow lock in place?

They do swivel, the ends slide towards the center and swivel to the next size and then you just slide them back out.

very interesting looking tool. seems it'd be quite handy since it's 8 tools in one.

what does it say on the wrench ?

                  What's on the wrench?

The only thing the wrench has on it is the patent number and says other patents applied for. I looked up the patent number on the net and that tells you who the patent number was given to and all kinds of info about the wrench. The person who invented it is named Richard J. Macor of Stewartsville N. J. and I cannot find his address or any other info. I sure would like to know where I can find an SAE version of the wrench, sure would be a fine wrench to take with me on my motorcycle while i'm tripping.

not sure if it's the same guy or not ... might be worth a phone call since it's a fairly uncommon last name.

                    *I deleted the guy's contact info *

edit: mapquest says bloomsbury is 3 miles from Stewartsville, so it's probably the same guy.

A 'dog-bone' wrench would achieve the same purpose, would it not?

                          Kevent,

If the guy Morpheus listed isn't the one you need, Russ Marshall, Allen, Nebraska (phone402-635-2186; email: [email protected]) is an expert on antique and collectible wrenches. We featured his collection in FARM SHOW in Vol. 26, Issue #1, P. 21. If Russ doesn't know about it, he can get you in touch with someone from one of the wrench collectors clubs (like the Missouri Valley Wrench Club) who can probably tell you everything you want to know about it.

the mystery is over, I just called the guy. he's quite the inventor

the tool is called the RotoWrench:

it has it's own website: www.rotowrench.com

and is available at most local Sears stores, although I don't recally ever seeing it at mine. the sears website lists the
tools in metric or sae or 14.99 each.
