Guest repliedThanks for the catch Rocky...the max file size is 100k not 10k.
In regards to images being posted within the text...if people are inserting images that exist on other websites (and have already been properly optimized for the web) the speed shouldn't be affected drastically. However, if we experience issues with large slow loading images, we will have to take appropriate actions to ensure we don't degrade the speed for everyone.
Our first action would be to go in and delete excessively large images. If it continued, we could ultimately be forced to turn the option off. We thought it would be nice to give it a try and see how things go. We have been closely monitoring the new board and making adjustments as necessary to ensure things are running smoothly.

Guest repliedHE, I appreciate the instructions, cause some are having difficulty, however, you mention a 10k limit. Are you sure it isn't 100k?
I like the pictures popping right into the post. I have a broadband connection, so speed is no problem for me, however (there's that 'however' again) the folks who have only dial up...well, need I say any more? I will pray for patience for them.

How to Attach Files and Insert Images
There seems to be a lot of questions about adding attachments and inserting images. First, let me say that we have made some adjustments to the board – the IMG button was not working before but has been corrected.
There are 2 ways to place images in a posting:
1) Attach an image that resides on your hard drive.
To attach an image or file from your hard drive, click the [Browse] button at the bottom of the post composition page (next to the “Attach file” box), and locate the file that you want to upload from your local hard drive.
You have the ability to upload images, text documents, zip files etc… However, only certain file types are valid for attaching to this board: .gif .jpg .png .txt .zip .bmp .jpeg. There will be a limit to the file size of up to 10k for any uploads you make.
After posting, a file icon and link will show up in the body of your message. To view the contents of the file, simply click the link.
2) Insert an image which resides online or on a website.
You can insert an image directly into your message if it already resides online. Start by typing your message. When you want the image to appear, click the "IMG" button in the "vB Code" box. This will bring up a box prompting you to enter a URL address for the image. (HINT: find the website where the image is located, right-click on the image, open the properties. The properties information will display the image address. Cut and paste the address into the IMG window.) Example of image address, http://hobartwelders.com/products/im...andler175.jpeg
Select "OK" and you will see a line of code inserted into your message that looks something like this (the {curly brackets} will actually appear as [square brackets]):
{IMG}http://hobartwelders.com/products/im...andler175.jpeg{/IMG}
Sample of how it appears in the message:
