PlanetX, the WMD is sitting in the grass! Nice cart; where did you get the idea for the color scheme?
Very funny 'Rambo' operates on LOOKS only he is THE cowardly doberman pincher!
I had a can of 'safety yellow' sitting on the shelf and Miller paints their stuff blue- not sure what yellow/red would look like.....
Radical Design! Looks very functional. Great welds!!
I'm working on one for my PowerMax 380. It's kind of "different", but I didn't copy yours.
Great work!
Dave
Thanks. I bought 5 kick *** wheels along time ago on e-bay and this design allowed me to utilize just 1 and even up the other 4 for some other project.
Look forward to checking out your powermax's cart.
Originally posted by stever Good looking cart, but I thought WMD could stand for Welding Machine Delivery, or Welding Machine Device, or something like that.
Slick welds!
Thanks but I just filled the gully between the two tubes, pretty ez to get a nice looking bead that way- plus I've NOT posted pics of the not so 'slick' welds
Originally posted by Scott V PlanetX,I just seen your other post on Inverters,so I think you better sell yours now! They have a real habit of getting even for bad mouthing them.
You know Scott V. the sad thing is I was blowing out my 'tecverter' tig/stick inverter the other day and guess what I found - copper coil/rectifier thingee albiet small but yes copper while on my powermig 255- aluminum?? (covered w/ bs. environmental resin)......
Inverters work great for things like Plasma cutters because of limited duty cycle of cut. Inverter welders have longer 'on' times which puts heat stress on circuit board parts that will invariably go Tango Uniform vs. a traditional copper/rectifier..... But if I were a salesman I would want said company to buy the current crop of inverter welder because I would make more $$$ up front and down the rode with the Inverter vs. the traditional rectifier welder.
Welding companys make a big deal about energy savings but NEVER do they factor in $$$ for the new machines $$$ for the repairs- utility costs are minute part of the whole equation.
Just to repeat- If only Miller (or competitor) would make a cp-302 single phase machine ....
What inverter exists that is outstanding operating on single phase power? My 3 year old (hardly used) tig/stick 200 stl puts out as much voltage as the much more costly inverters offered by the red/blue... If I had three phase NO inverter welder would get a dime of my $$$.
