  • Welding Table with a Corner cut out

Yet another welding table. The squared corner cut-out is handy. The bolted-on"vise-grip" clamp is usually for a drill press but works fine here. I need to drill a few more holes for it.

I liked their press but couldn't see the $400... copied theirs and built my own and really like what it does... it's a well designed machine...

Made in India. It's welded-up steel. It makes my welds look good ! $22 I don't know how they can ship it from there for that The jaw opens 6" plus. I brought it at a liquidator at Toto, Indiana. Near Winamac, North Judson. If it breaks I've got a boat anchor

Sure looks good for something made in ---- hey as long as it works for you. Looks like my shop before the cyclone goes thru it during any project.

Talking about boat ancors, next week is the dock repairs, this winter really did a number on them. the ice tore them apart.

Nice alum work for a week or so, dont even have to get wet.

              Talk soon

RCH, that hood will do a number on your neck, after a few years. I got a couple of disks messed up in my neck due to those kinds of hoods. Get a lighter one.

What's the double ringed holder for....a thermos?

Actually Rocky, I'm in the market for a dfferent helmet and I want to incorporate correction lenses in the helmet as per a recent thread on this forum. [URL=http://www.hobartwelders.com/mboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1338]
However, I haven't figured out exactly how to get the right "diopter magnifier" and holder for the inside of the helmet. I emailed [email protected] at your suggestion since you said Weld-It was on the verge of marketing lenses but got no reply. It seems one would have to trial & error a given lens since the distance between your eye ball and the lens holder would be critical and not the same as with a pair of glasses. Also fogging-up glasses, especially in the winter, is a problem. I see the Speedglas's have a breath diverting feature and I wonder if that solves that. At any rate I'm still figuring this all out.

That is for stick welding rods; a Weld-It plastic case fits right in

You guys are amazing; jniolon picks up on a Shop Outfitter press in the background that a CIA photo analyzer would have trouble picking up. bjdenommee homes in on the vise and Rocky D picks up on the helmet seeing only a sliver of it
I was thinking of posting my photo but that may be way too revealing

RCH, on that diopter, I use one and I have trifocal glasses. ROCK calls 'em tri-goggles. Anyway, depending on how blind you are ..start with a 1.00. I use a 1.50, and the 2.00 is way too hard on my eyes.

Hey, go ahead and post an avatar of your self...You couldn't be uglier than me!

                        corrective lenses

                        Hi,

I have a plastic corrective lense that I added to my Jackson automatic helmet. This is the small size opening. If memory serves it was about $2.50. If you could find some at that price you could try a few different ones.

I just play around on the weekend, and get by with what I have. I suppose if I put in more helmet time I'd want higher quality, but these might be good enough to get a feel for the amount of correction you want.
