  • Welding Helmets

I'm new here, just love this forum. I have seen some humor directed toward helmet people have. I would love to have a new Hobart patriotic scene helmet, but being dirt-poor, and broke on top of that, just can't afford one now. But I have a Poor Mans solution. I bought some of theat new Krylon Fusion paint, just for plastic. I got some self-adheasive stickers from my local Crafts store, and viola! a Hobart wannabe!. Clean the helmet, spray white as first coat, put on stickers , spray blue on as second coat, then red. When dry (after 7 hours) remove stickers!
Here is my helmet, first try.

Yes, I suppose so, however, no problem of fires to date. I weld with it all the time. The top says Warning-Beware of the Eagle, with a picture of an American Bald Eagle.

I have seen several hoods with "Do Not Watch The Arc" written on them. Seems to me that by the time someone read that he would have already done damage to his eyes.
