  • Star

This is a project at school that many hard working students put many hours into. Thats the great star of Texas. It's made of 1/8 sheet and I don't know how much but it weighs a lot. It still needs to be painted and sold. Any one interested in buying a 10 foot starI'm hoping it ends up on the college campus so I can tell my great, great grand kids "I helped build that

Neat star! It looks a little like the badge that Walker Texas Ranger wears. I don't think I wanna try to pin that one to my shirt though.

The college is in Midland, TX and it was made in the mig class. I jumped in at the tail end of the project so all I did was just cosmetic work. I think 90% of the credit goes to the guys ( and one girl) who fabricated it.

Rock, even the Texas Rangers won't go to Midland , CPB, that is impressive workmanship. Are you the instructor?

ScottV, if gloabl warming continues, Alaska won't be any bigger than Rhode Island!

Scott, haven't seen any posts here yet from Alaska, but one of the moderators at Wood Magazine's online forum is from AK. If he saw that post he would have a comeback for sure.

CPB, My Midland comment was tongue-in-cheek. I have been there and while it smells like oil, its not a bad place to live these days. I actually considered a job offer there but have too many ties to the Houston area to pull up stakes.
