I forgot to mention I scrounged the rear tires off a busted lawn mower & the swiveling front wheels off of a lay down dolly. Thats all I had around at the time

            Welding Gas

            Scott V

The little puppy welds like a dream with the Co2. Do you think it would be better served with 75/25 gas? I have had no problems with it to this day. I am not in my own home at this time & do not have easy access to 220 right now so I decided on the 135 plus. When I get to my own home one day I'll be looking more than likely for a Millermatic 251 or a Powermig 300 for my full spectrum mig needs.

I have a feeling you would like it better in some ways, but maybe not in others.I was just wondering thats all. Some welding machines don't run co2 all that well.

Nice job on the cart. Don't feel bad about using lawnmower tires. Thats what I did too. My front is a single swivel caster. I used old bed frame material and my cost for the project was a few feet of chain for the cylinder and a couple of eyebolts to secure it.

Can you expand on the pros & cons of the 75/25 gas. I would like to know if maybe I should change over. I am always looking to improve my welding quality.

Do you have any pics of your cart? Like to see if there is anything more I can do to mine before I finish dressing the welds & painting my cart. I would rather make the additions now than after I paint it.

Here's something you can add to your cart...hooks for the cables. This is my plasma cutter, but it will work for anything. The hooks are mounted on a frame of 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/8" angle...the hooks are 3/8" rod.

You can also put small 1" pieces of various diameter pipe to hold tools you use a lot....we call it "point of use" tools. All our operations in the plant have P.O.U. tools at the work stations.

                        Cart

Rangerod, I don't have any pictures that would show anything important. Yours looks fine as is; you have plenty of room at the rear for a larger cylinder if you ever want one. As Rocky D said, you might want to add hooks for the ground lead and MIG gun.

Nice cart, but like everyone else said...You can't have too many places to hang things from.

I also have a sp175 and use C25,my supplier gave me a bottle of co2 one day when he was out of c25,i think i made 2 welds and brought it back,I personally didn't like it,i'm sure the welds were fine and that other guys swear by it but i prefer the c25,just try a bottle and see what you think, thats what matters most.
On another topic, how long does that little bottle last?i think i'd be buying one a day!Not raggin on ya but from my supplier the bigger bottles are a lot cheaper than the small ones,ex. my first bottles were 150ish CF for $50,i upgraded to a 388CF(huge bottle) and it's only $60,if the small bottle is all ya need then thats fine, just wondering why guys don't go with bigger bottles is all?
                            Good luck with your machine!

Nice cart, is all starts there.

Here's a cart that I put together a while ago. It's a work in progress, always adding more options to it. Like Rocky D says, all normal tools needed for welder are conveinent to have mounted on the cart.
It's not an optical illusion...it just looks like one
