Pink flowers on welding hats?

Hi,

Just a fun question for any old timers.

Is there a tradition behind the wild colors and patterns on welding caps? I can't believe the ones I see are for women since most women have better taste in clothing.

That high desert hat link won't come up for me , but I say that anybody that dosen't like 'Foo Foo' Hats can just go stuff it, cause we've been wearing them since the beginning of time, and if a dirty, tired, hurting, old man can't have any fun on the job, It's time to quit.
