  • wiring a receptacle for MM 251

I bought a MM 251 yesturday. Waiting for it to come in now. I went to Home Depot last night to buy the stuff I needed for a new outlet. I talked to electrician and he told me how to do it. Now I don't remember which wire goes where on the receptacle. Does it matter which side the white and the black wires goes to? I know where the green one goes. I have wired up many 120 volt outlets. This is my first big outlet wiring.

    wiring

Makes no difference which leg is white or black as long as ground is on correct leg. I used to match them up but the welder won't care.

LOOK IN YOUR BOX IF YOUR STILL UNSURE CONSULT YOUR CODES OR JUST ASK A LOCAL ELECTRICIAN........ BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY IN THIS CASE,,,.......................ROCK

              Av8or, I put in a 50 amp breaker.

              R. Nelson, I got the mm 251 with the spool gun package for $1875. That special ended last month. They normally sell the mm 251 by itself for $1650. I really like my 251. It is a great machine. I am sure you will not be disappointed. I really like the digital meters. Just dial it in and weld.

Chad, do you mind sharing where you got this for $1875? Locally I can find for ~$1,600 w/o spoolgun or about $2,400 for package.

                      Bill,

Miller was having a special on the 251 with the spool gun. It ended on the last day in January. I could have gotten by with the 210 but the 251 with the spool gun was hard to pass up. It was part of their Cool Stuff promotion. I bought it from AeriForm. They have stores all over the place.
