The welder in Question was the Champ 2060 welder. This has 180 DCamps and 6000 watts auxilary output. The Honda 13 hp engine was used. Now there is only a limited supply still in stock, Hobart now makes a Champ 4500 and the Champion 10,000. The Champ 4500 is 140amps AC welding and 4500 watts of aux and has a 9 hp Briggs engine on it and the Champ 10,000 has 235 amps DC weld and 10,000 watts Aux and it has a 20 hp Koler or Onan engine on it.

My Miller stick amperage calculator says 110 to 165 amps for 1/8" 7018 rod. You should consider getting the set of Miller calculators. Get the set of 3. They are a very good value.

Does hobart still make the 13 hp. #2060 welder.?..also what amps would I run 1/8 -7018 ..on 3/8 mild steel plate ( flat weld)
