  • Welder vs. Weather

DOn't hink me stupid guys, but I need to ask. This winter, to allow for more space in my garage, I moved my Bobcat outside. Now, even if I'm not on a welding project, I start it several times a week. Also, it has a canvas cover. I don't think I'll have any problems? Any advice.

You shouldn't have any problems mine sets on my truck year round sometimes covered alot of times not covered. They are alot more rugged and dependable than you think.

Fill it with fresh fuel, then add stabil to it,, very bad to let sit without it. Change the oil when its going to be sitting a lot and as long as the battery is charged, or even take it out and put somewhere warm you need not start it so often. Just adding condensate to the oil unless it gets worked. Every couple weeks is plenty or even longer doesnt hurt. Once a month would even be fine, but if you use it once in a while that would work too. I like to change oil just before storage.

Only additional suggestion I'd make would be to stuff a rag in the exhaust while the machine is still warm. Then again, I'm from the old school.

Franz, What is the advantage of the rag in the pipe while warm?

It helps to keep condensate out of whichever cylinder the exhaust valve may happen to be open in. Also could keep a critter out of the muffler.
