COWTOWNER...........WELCOME ABOARD.......Well in the end only you can decide.......... However some welding distributors have demo rooms where you can go and set down with units and weld with them.........The MM210, THE IRONMAN 210 are not the exact same machine................. However they are very similar........ As a further aid Miller/hobart are owned by the same parent company company ITW..................

Enjoy the decision makeing process..........Many have been in the same delima your currently in........................ Let the quest begin.

When I bought my HH175, I couldn't believe the difference in power over my previous machine, a HH135. Man, it was night and day.

Now I have a MM251, as the HH175 couldn't keep up. Again, the difference is night and day. I have welded 3/4" stock, and then yesterday I welded on an exhaust. Same spool of wire, same tank of gas. Only thing that really changed was the settings.

I think you should get the most machine you can get. I would've saved a lot of money by going to the MM251 (or MM210) to start with. As my skills increased, so did my needs. I know this is likely the case for many people.

i bought a hh175 i thought at first i would rarely mess with much stuff over 1/4 but now it seems i have to use the stick welder more and more maybe you should spend the extra 400 or 500 hundred bucks and get the bigger one wish i would have.

Yea, MM210. The post is confusing, the title says MM210 but the text says HH210.

I vote for saving up for the 210. However, I d go with the MM 210 instead of the Ironman 210. The MM 210 is a much better machine then the Ironman 210.

If you can swing a little extra cash go for the 210. You already have a hood, the 210 doesn't need a cart, and the only other freebie is a small bottle but I don't know where you're going to get a TSC bottle filled anyway.

Bigger is always better with welders, buy the best one you can afford and you wont have to upgrade. The 210 will handle the 1/4 stuff way better than the 175. Its a full size machine and eats 035 really well.

OK, I've been lurking here for quite a while....it's a great site!!!!

BTW, I found the site from a link on Pirate4x4.

So, I'm gonna buy myself a welder instead of moochin' off my friends.

Don't know how much stuff over 3/8" I will do, as I mainly do stuff on my 3 Jeeps.

Stopped at TSC and looked at the HH175....looked like a good deal, even though I already own a Auto Helmet.

So, should I spend the dough, or save it and buy a HH210 after XMas?
Working...
