  • Hobart TG201 (old)

Hello, I have a chance to pick up an old Hobart TG 201 tig , stick, with all the goods. Its a monster, and old, but is said to have only about 10 hrs of use. It looks like it has been well taken care of. Can I still get parts for this thing? How old is it? Is it really worth messing with? Any info would be helpful, as I do not know anything about tig welding.
    Thanks,
    Fred C.

    Added information about Hobart TG201:

    Serial # 8RT3942
    Input Amps 74/66/33
    Output Amps 200

Hope someone can tell me if this is worth getting involved with, and about how much $$$$ it may be worth.

    Welcome to the Forum

If you can post the serial # of your rig, then one of the moderators can tell you status of spares and it's birth month & year, maybe even day.

Hi, Any idea of what this thing is worth. The owner said he would like a fair price, and I have no idea of what that might be!
        Thanks,

EACRU.......Wouldn't even want to guess.............to help in your accessmant there is 50-150 dollars worth of copper in the unit. Depends on the price of copper though..........Is the unit functional, does it have the tig torch, foot pedal, is there a water circulator........................Most importantly have you used it.........

Only you can decide weigh all the factor's advise the owner of it's age and very limited parts issue's..................In the end only you can decide it is after all your hard earned cash..............Enjoy the decision makeing process.............................Rock..
