Hi Doug,
Thanks for coming out to the truck and trying out the equipment, to bad it rained now back to your thought and I really have to turn it right back at you, as for should you spend more or not.

You stated a lot of uses for TIG, now what is your plans, will best help determine what unit to possibly look at. Inverters are nice if you want to be portable and carry the unit around and if high freq is not wanted, the Dynasty uses just a click to get started, so less chance of messing with other equipment or devices. It will also allow you to control the arc better, using the pulse and the freq control. It also has the lower amps getting 1-200 were as the sync is 7-180.
I work out on the show's with the Roadshow and I would have to say it is a toss up as for the guys like yourself which way they go, but it all boils down to, again what you see yourself getting involved with.
I would say your on the right site to gather info, these guys don't hold back and will give you good advise. Now if I did nothing more than confuse you let me know and I'll try to be better help.

Made it to the road show.It rained on and off all day. The only one I got to try was the dynasty 200.What a nice machine especially since I know nothing abot it anyway. Let me ask this .Would you spend$2700.00 on the dynasty set up if you were just getting into it?
Or settle for something less.Like the others in my post.Even considering the syncro wave 180 and 250
I would like to see the t/A 185.but none of the dealers in my area know nothing about them.
Are the Miller truck drivers also rep's ?

Hey Rock,
let me fill in the guys just for the humor side of things.
Mike G and myself went out ice fishin and we were catching some crappies, well I take that back Mike was catching some crappies and I had my yellow lab along,seemed no matter where I went that dog had to be there. I'm sure some of you know how that story goes. The day progressed and my tactics didn't seem to be working no matter what I tried, Mike caught fish and me nothing.
There happened to be a guy fishin 60 yards away from us and he had fish layin on the ice by him also, then all of a sudden out of the blue my dog comes up from behind me and at my feet drops a crappie down and looks up at me with her ears perked!
Well I couldn't say much but my fishin buddy had all kinds of remarks and I'll admit I'm still luaghing about that one

When things are tough even the dog had to kick me when I was having bad luck. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

ROCKYD........ I wish I had a dollar for everytime I was in TJ eating that stuff.............Well I was stationed at Milmar.........When your in the Military you ain't got much money...............

hahaha.....and when I worked with Ian at Powcon...........boom was just down the street from there (Milmar).........

YEP...........I know we would end up in the ditch.........We have a hard time trying to get the boat out of the water because were laughing so hard............WE wreck that baby and we might be in trouble..........or hurt ourselves...............

.......and you should see this fishing hat KURT wears..... hahaha...............Laurence of arabia style........only thing missing is the part across the face where you can only see his eye's..........

hmmmmmm.........maybe I should get me one..........Seems like he out fish's me everytime..............

That reminds me of a story when Kurt and Mikeg were fishing........ hahaha we ....., well another time on that one........... When Mikeg told the story I thought I was going to fall in the water I was laughing so hard...........

Say, Kurt. I'd like to add my voice to Motordoc's and would like to see your truck in San Diego. I'm on the verge of purchasing a big TIG and am wavering between the inverter and the Syncro. How about just grabbin' the wheel and hijacking the Big Blue and comin out here anyway...I'll buy you the best burrito ya ever had!...and bring ROCK with ya! I'll get him a genuwine TiaJuana taco!

did you get out to the BBT and check out the equipment?

Rock was right, oh boy did you hear that, yea that inflating sound! There goes Rock's head, but yea get out and check the equipment over and weld with it, your the one looking to buy. Make sure it welds for you.

Dynasty is a sweet set-up thats for sure, small and light weight.
The 250 is nice also and if you are just going to put it in the shop and don't intend on moveing it around a whole lot it will be great. 1400 doesn't sound like a bad price.



P.S One more thing I just want to throw out the for one and all is there are 3 other drivers on the truck, their is Bob who has been on the truck the longest, then their is Roger the next in the line, and then Tom, myself I'm actually the youngest and only been on the truck for 2 yrs.
So when and if you all get out to the truck say Hi, I've already had the pleasure of meeting a few of you!

Hi motordoctor,
right now is just a bit to soon to give you any kind of answer other than next year. Boy thats alot of help, ain't it!
This is the way it usually goes, we start out in Feb and we head for the warm country, so we head south and then start making our way around the country.
Still not alot of help but it's the best I can offer at this time. Keep us in mind and feel free to keep asking now and then and as the year starts up I'll be able to give you a better idea.

I would love to have the dynasty but i really don't think I can spend that amount of money just starting out. Unless it's an offer I can't refuse Like real close to the Thermal arc(few hundred$$)
But I have over stepped my spending's before!
Just in case what do you guys think of the Esab and Syncro 250 I mentioned ealier

DEA................WELCOME ABOARD...........Do this head over to the road show and set down with the syncrowave, dynasty, all the tig machines they have.............Compare them then head off to the competitors and use theirs.............In reality only you can decide after all it is your hard earned cash..............
