  • Help identify this wire feeder

Can any of you experienced members identify this wire feeder. It has been repainted and none of the original markings remain.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your reply Hobbyweldor230. I looked at the ESAB web site and found a photo parts breakdown for a 4 roll drive that is similar, but nothing else.

I have included another photo of the front of the unit. Maybe this will help.

I noticed there is a circuit board inside, have you tried to remove it to see if there is a manufacture name stenciled on it?

I've worked on units with that same big wire speed indicator, I think it's a Liquide Air which was originally made by Airco. The circuit board should have the manufacturer stamped on it, that way you'll know for sure.

Thanks to all who responded suggesting a check of the PC board.

As you may be able to see from the first photo, the board is mounted on the underside of the hinged cover. The only readable marking on the board is: 1S17M REV D. Whoever repainted the control box yellow did a grand job of destroying all the markings.

Sometimes there are markings on the backside of printed circuit boards.

After scraping the castings of the drive roll assembly, I was able to read the following:

On the front casting, 025855-71 MB 2

On the rear casting, 025856-71 MB 3

I hope this may register with someone.
