That 110 volt looking plug behind the fine control was for Remote. At the time you could take the fine control out of the unit and plug a 50ft extension cord into it and then into your fine control which would enable you to control the curent at your weld table. This was Hobarts first remote control.
The wires behind the plug goes into the control coils around the generator.
    Thanks
    Dave Evans

SCOTT........WELL IF THE MACHINE IS THAT OLD, AND BY THE WAY IT IS , I WOULD VARIFY THAT IT IS A 10 VOLT AC OUTLET. NOW AS I RECALL THOSE OLD MAHINES WERE DC OUTPUTS FOR THE GRINDERS OF THOSE YEARS..........PUT YOU FLUKE METER ACROSS IT AND SEE...................THAT WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW...................ROCK[email protected]

I have an older model #MD-304 Spec#3468. I need a electrical diagram for it. The 110 volt looking plug behind the fine adjustment knob is burnt up. What does it wire to so I can rig up a new plug.
Working...
