  • Miller Spoolgun 185 ?

I was at the welding shop today asking about the hat miller owes me and while I was there I asked about the price of the Spoolgun 3035. Needless it was mucho dollars, so he told me that I should get a Spoolgun 185, that it would be cheaper and would still connect to the SGA 100. He had a page on it in his Miller catalog. He told me that the only difference was that it was tapped [4] instead of infinate voltage. I went to the Miller web site and looked under wirefeeder's, not there that I could see...I guess my question is for ROCK... does this thing now, or did it ever, exist
    Regards, George

You received a bit of wrong info there.

The Spoolmate 185 is the exact same spoolgun as the Spoolmate 3035. It was originally made for the Millermatic 185 which is no longer a current production machine. The Spoolmate 185 was designed for running aluminum wire .030 and .035, and the SGA100 had been developed to attach this spoolgun to virtually any CV power source. Thus the name Spoolmate 3035.

      Thanks Mike

It won't be the first time a salesman has led me down the path
