  • New to forum, just saying hi!!

I am purchasing a MM175 tomorrow for the general fab work I will be doing on my Jeep. I am new to welding so I have been doing a lot of research on mig welders and it seems that either Miller or Hobart is the way to go. I thimk I am getting a good deal, it's going to be $595 through a local welding supply store. The next thing I need to do is get my garage wired for 220v so I can start making a welding table and cart with wheels for my welder and tank. I'm sure I will have lots of questions in the future so please be patient.
    Thanks

    Jaormy,

Welcome to the forum, I know you will like it. Iam just learning to weld myself and this has been a great place to learn. Everyone here is so helpful and some of the experts have so much great knowledge that they are more than willing to share.

Welcome on board, and happy welding!
    Thanks

I wish I had some experience to share with everyone, but unfortunately I will be the one asking all the questions.

Im roughly about 70 miles south of you. It is about time someone from my neck of the woods joined us. $595 is an excellent price for a MM 175 . Asking questions is what this forum is about so don t be shy.
MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.
Ironman 230 - Soft arc with a touch of agressiveness to it. Very good weld puddle wet out. Light spatter producer.

Hey JS, I bought a HH175 about 2 months ago, I also paid 595 plus tax and bottle. I could have gotten it a little cheaper from cuberweld.com, but have bought stuff from this supplier(rods, gas for torch etc.) and figured it would be worth the little extra if I did have problems with my unit,...so far I love this thing, you will be happy with it,....welcome to the best site on the net.
