Would someone who's familiar with both "drag" type torches and plasma torches with "stand-offs" give me hints on what's the better way to go?

To my understanding, with the "drag" type deals, you pull the trigger then toch the nozzle to the workpiece...you essentially drag the nozzle of the plasma torch along the workpiece to cut.

Some torches (and I would guess this would include ones that don't actually come with a "stand-off") need to be 1/8" - 1/4" away from the workpiece, and you either accomplish this with a steady hand or with a nozzle attachment that puts the torch the right distance away.

So, please tell me about the pros/cons of each approach.
