  • MM 175 and aluminum

Why is the HH175 recommended to weld aluminum and the MM175 requires the spoolgun? I know that MIG results are not as good as with my Syncrowave, but is it practical to do with the MM175?

BUGEYEDVALIANT......... HERE IS THE SKINNY............. THE HANDLER WILL WELD ALUMINUM........ BUT YOU BETTER BE PRETTY EXPERIENCED OR PREPARED TO PRACTICE A LOT ON SCRAP PIECES OF ALUMINUM.......... THE HOME HOBBIEST TYPE WILL NOT HAVE A SPOOL GUN LAYING A ROUND........ HOWEVER THE COMMERCIAL TYPE BUSINESS PROABABLY DOES............ WERE JUST INTO TWO DIFFERENT MARKETS....... YOU CAN ALSO PUT A SPOOL GUN ON THE HANDLER WITH THE RIGHT CONTROL BOX............ IT IS A LOT EASIER TO WELD ALUMINUM ONLY PUSHING THE WIRE 6" AS YOU WOULD WITH A SPOOL GUN VS THE 10' IN A MIG GUN................. HOWEVER YOU CAN DO IT WITH A LOT OF PRACTICE...............HOPE THIS EXPLAINS THE SERERIO AND YOU NOW HAVE THE ANSWER....................ROCK............[email protected]
