  • One of these days I will have one

I ve been transfering some of my pictures over to this NEW computer that cost me my MM251 and of course I came across some pictures of my test drive welds with the MM251. Now Im depressed again It is definately a sweet machine. Lets see, how many more days till Christmas ?

Check this weld out. This was on 1/4" hot rolled mild steel with an .035 E70S-6 and C-25. The machine was set at 19.5 volts and about 335 on the wire speed. I don t see hardly any spatter and this weld was ran over mill scale
MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.
Ironman 230 - Soft arc with a touch of agressiveness to it. Very good weld puddle wet out. Light spatter producer.

Dan, I rarely get spatter of any kind. Even when I don't properly prepare the metal.

Thanks Dan..we had a great time. Can't believe my wife planned all that back in April and arranged time off for me at work and I didn't know a thing about it....

I got her to try snorkeling with me and now she is up for diving lessons. I have been wanting to get my open waters cert. for years now.

I need to get welding up a table for my small metal lathe I bought a few weeks back so I can get me welding table back..lol

since you are posting pics of welds, i will post mine. i have never taken a welding class and dont have any welding "mentors" that I can ask questions, so I dont know if some of the things I am doing are right or not. I am new to the welding word.

This is a weld from the project I am working on now, welding two pieces of 1/4" thick channel together with a Miller 225AC Stick welder(old machine), welder was set to 140 and I used a 1/8" 6013 rod...

                  any feedback would be great.

Hang onto that MM 210. I still have mine and it isn t going anywhere. Now this new MM 175 might be different story though if I can t get it to produce welds that meet my standards.

Due to my obsession with the MM 251 my wife has stated that she feels I plan on owning the entire Millermatic line up. Don t think I could afford to do that though.

Dan, I just bought the little 7 x 10 that harbor frieght has. I just turned down some guages so I could measure for wear on the tips and electrodes. If anyone else is interested in these just give me the wear specs for your plasma cutter tips and electrodes and your address and I will make them up for you and mail them out.

The next item I am going to make is a track cutter for the plasma cutter.

Will just got his 14 x 40 Enco. Wow is that thing awesome. Between the two of us we should be able to fab up pretty much anything we need.

I need to get a small mill yet so that is on my list. Lots of support tooling you need to buy for one of those.....whew..
