A good friend is looking to upgrade to a 200-250 amp mig unit. Looking for suggestions. Thanks

That is what I suggested and Blue is all I know/own. Always have had good luck with the power of blue. Just wanted to be fair and not push him one way or the other. Thanks

Having ran both the MM 210 and the MM 251 I feel you can t go wrong with either machine. It mainly comes down to which machine meets a persons needs and budget.

The MM 251 has a nice crisp short circuit transfer arc and the MM 210 has a nice smooth soft short circuit arc. Both produce almost spatter free welds. The drive roll assembly and guns are the same, so there is no advantage or disasvantage between these two features. For adjusting the machine I really like the meters on the MM 251. However, in my experience the parameter chart on the door of the MM 210 is right on for flat and horizontal fillets.

If I could only have one of these machines it would be the MM 251. However, since I already have the MM 210 and I am not going to part with it, I m patiently waiting to add the MM 251 too . what can I say I m greedy when it comes to welders
MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.
Ironman 230 - Soft arc with a touch of agressiveness to it. Very good weld puddle wet out. Light spatter producer.
