  • Small MM 210 prob

I've been having trouble with the guide roll pressure for the drive wheels,i know this is basic but it never happened on my Lincolns.Out of the blue it will weld eratickly and if you adjust the pressure one way or the other, she will weld fine again for awhile. When i first got it,it was loose so i tightened it up a bit and it's been fine for a month or so and just now.......

ARCBURN...........A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS POPPED INTO MY HEAD....IMAGINE THAT........I WOULD LOOK A THE SPOOL HUB BRAKE SEE IF IT IS A LITTLE TO TIGHT.........ALSO LOOK AT THE END OF THE LINER IN THE GUN MAKE SURE IT IS NOT EGG SHAPED OR HAS A BURR ON IT.......... TAKE A LOOK AT THE INPUT GUIDE AND SEE IF THERE IS A GROOVE IN IT THAT COULD BE HOLDING THE WIRE DURING WELDING............. AND I DOUBT THE DRIVE ROLL IS WORE OUT YET BUT YOU MIGHT AS WELL LOOK AT THAT ALSO.......LET US KNOW............................ROCK...........

      Arcburn,
Be sure to check the drive rolls to make sure you have the right size out for the size wire you are running. The drive rolls that come on the 210 are combination .030/.035 drive rolls. As Rock mentioned check the spool brake, lots of people miss that one. Let us know what you find out....
