C- Clamp repair

  • C- Clamp repair

    just inherited several H.D. 10" c- clamps some are wilton, however some have missing swivle pads, some pads bad from cutting off welds. No one around here knows if they can be repaired. anybody got any suggestions ?

        speaking of c-clamps ... almost every c-clamp I have is warped. my suspiscion if that I'll get one pretty tight holding something together and then I'll weld close to it. Then the clamp will soak up all the heat from the weldment and with the force I've placed on the clamp it will twist the C part of it a bit. any ideas to unwarp them ?

          Morphes, are your weldments next to a fordge? Ha HA just kidding. I' ve never had any fordged HD 5" & up warp ( yet ) althougt have warped some 2"- 4" el chepos from trying to twist them to tight. If you have twisted fordged clamps, I too would be instrested in how to straighten them. happy welding.
