  • Millermatic 210 With 3035 Spoolgun

Guys, I'm looking to be able to weld aluminum. I have a Lincoln AC/DC buzzbox and a HH135. Is this a good choice?

Hello Trent, The MM 210 + Spoolmate 3035 makes a nice package but we really need to know a few things before we can make a recommendation. What thicknesses of aluminum are you going to be welding? Is this production work or just a home shop? The material thickness and type of welding play a huge role in deciding what piece of equipment is right for you.

This would be for a home shop, material .250 or less. Any way I can use my buzzbox with a Tig torch?

Trent, the only way to use the buzzbox on aluminum would be to add a high freq. box and Tig torch (not easy to use,no remote current control) or purchase aluminum stick electrodes. I have never used the aluminum stick electrodes but maybe someone else can enlighten us both on those. For use on 1/4" down to about 14ga aluminum the MM 210+3035 is an excellent way to go. Great performance at a reasonable price . Let us know what you decide and why. If you have any other questions go ahead and fire away....
