I just came across what I think is a deal. A Lincoln Ideal arc 250 with a miller suitcase wire feeder. The seller wants about $550 for both. The 250 has very little use. The suit case is in good shape. Will this be a good unit for MIG welding? What are the Mig capabilities of this machine? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Steve, run,do not walk, to the seller's place. Have cash in hand.
The set-up will be able to take care of just about any type of welding, except aluminum, as the soft aluminum wire jams easily in the mig gun leader.
The Ideal Arc needs to have the constant voltage option. Some feeders will work with constant current, but I haven't been able to find one that will short arc when using CC.work safe, always wear your safety glasses.
