    What ration of copper does this beaut get? Thanks in advance.

    PlanetX,I will be banned if I get involved in this thread,but here goes.I think it's plastic,and I hear they weld the same as copper.

      Just curious if the 'serious' mig machines get down with Alcoa

        PlanetX, the CP units are primarily copper tansformer units with aluminum stabilizers. This configuration is very common among older types of designs. You were curious about the Deltawelds...
        they are all aluminum windings, transformer and stabilizer this includes the big 650 amp units. I have not looked inside Esab or Thermal units but I know Lincoln also uses aluminum windings extensively in their units. As long as the magnet wire is sized correctly and the connections are properly made you will see no difference in arc performance between copper and aluminum.
