I've seen this question on here before, and I tried looking back for it but It's gone. How many psi should I run on the oxy. and acy. Does it vary on metal thickness and the tip? I think my tip reads 1-3-101 or something like that. Again sorry for the repeat questions, I'm gonna start taking notes.

Albie: I work in heavy construction and are tortches we set at 10 acy&40oxy I've cut from 1/8 steel to 3" with 00 thru no.6 tips flame gouge and rose buds to. For the home shop thats a little much acy & oxy you'll probably use about 6-8 acy & 25-30 oxy will do about everything you want. Here's a little trick for setting oxy.I picked up. whatever acy setting you run at. When the cutting tortch is lit you should be able to turn the oxy & acy all the way up at the tortch and produce a good blue tipped cutting flame. This will set your gauges at a good mix, and the flame shouldn't go out when you hit the high air trigger. If it does adjust your oxy gauge. The tip you have is a good general purpose size. Stu
