  • Be Prepared

I saw an unuasual welding truck this afternoon. He had a Miller Bobcat on one side and a Lincoln Ranger 8 on the other. Don't know if he was just hedging his bets or is just a busy guy.

Cope,I seen that too.A guy bought a Miller 250 bobcat, and was going to buy another one then he seen my 305g up for sale,he tried beating my friend down on the price who was selling it for me.Anyway I wouldn't take any less then the set price. He tried for two days by telling my friend that he is leaving town, and buying another bobcat. He was a pipe welder, and I knew I had him on the Lincoln, because of the awsome 6010 welding of that machine. He bought it,and had it loaded up with his new bobcat. This guy will never use the great tig,mig in that machine. It's kind of nice when you don't have to take a beating on something that you know is worth every penny. In fact if I was selling it,and the guy tried beating me down,I would of raised it $100.00.Just because I know he is getting a perfect machine that was broke in right, and only 28 hours on it with five oil,and filter changes. In fact I might of refused to sell it to him at any price. That's why I had my friend sell it for me! Plus it helps for the new toy the Ironworker. I will use it every day unlike the Lincoln.

Scott is not paranoid. Its just that he's always elling a welder and getting another one, so on a given day, he doesn't have a machine to weld with.

Look at the oil outside under the sun when you change the oil on a small engine when they are new. Athough on this one I didn't see too too much some of them have a very pretty metallic color to them.I am sure you could run to the 100 hours between oil changes, but I figured $20 to $30 dollars to break in a $4000 dollar welder is not a whole lot of cash to invest.I can fix all my stuff, but rarely ever have to!I bet that welder now will never see a oil change,so it all comes out in the wash.I do the same with all my stuff, and it has always payed off for me.

I still maintain Scott's a dealer...doesn't even have a weld shop. When he wants to weld something, he just goes down to see his friend at the welding store and tries out a new welder...then buys it...then he discovers it won't fit in the room where he has all his other machines and has to give one away...pretty shrewd, huh?

Maybe so RockyD?I think you don't work for a aircraft place, because I really think your real job is being one of Rocks secret agents! You probably only work for him because you work cheap.Like for Hobart 135 welders.
