welding hood problem?

just got a hobart hood, the flame one, tried adjusting it and no matter what setting i cant seem to see squat out of it...only way i can see what im doing is by tilting head back and looking out the bottem quarter of the lense. im assuming this is not normal. any suggestions?

ZOMBIE..............AH USUALLY ALL I FIND WRONG IS THAT THEY DIDN'T GET ENOUGH SUN LIGHT TO CHARGE THEM UP ALL THE WAY......... YOU MUST LAY IT IN DIRECXT SUNLIGHT FOR PROPER FUNCTIONS........... IF THIS STILL DOESN'T WORK GIVE ME A CALL OR SEND ME AN E-MAIL AND I WILL SEND YOU A NEW LENSE........
