Thanks to all...
The information I was able to obtain here helped me move from knowing I wanted to buy some kind of welder, to wanting a TIG/Stick AC/DC, to an inverter, to a Dynasty 200DX or Lincoln V205T. But it doesn't end there. Another member read some of my posts and offered to sell me a Lincoln V205T used 1 1/2 hours and less than a year old complete with foot pedal, torch, cables etc. for a great price. (Thanks Shotgun) I now have this machine on the way and am thoroughly excited. Hope you don't mind me hanging around even though I'll be a little red. Thanks again for making so much great information available.

Rock, I am taking TIG at a local vo-tech this semester and am presently cutting material for my first project - a 24" x 48" portable welding table. I got approval from my instructor to take a combination stick and MIG class next semester (partly to maintain access to the cutting and forming equipment). I plan to design and build a small enclosed aluminum trailer to pull behind my camaro. The trailer will haul race compound tires and tools to and from autocross events. I know it will be pricey but I will enjoy the experience.Comment
