What is it worth, Carolina Band saw HV12

Tonight I looked at a Carolina band saw model #HV12 dry cut. The guy wants to get $400 for it. Is that a good price???? Unit seems in good shape. 3/4 hp motor, 3 speed, hydro feed needs a little work. Can this unit miter cut also? When I looked at it I didn't pay much attention to the vise, but as I recall it looked like it didn't have any provision on the vise to do 45's? Anyone have any ideas??

Check eBay for a fair market value. I've seen several Carolina bandsaws sold recently. Search current as well as completed auctions (In the advanced search window).

Thats a great saw I have had one for years, and paid about 300.00 for it and would not trade or sell it for anything.

The motor runs a little hard, but the cuts are real nice with the right blade.

Yea it will mitre OK, but complex one are tough.

If the one you are looking at takes a 1 X 98" blade it would be the same as mine.
