I would imagine that if you don't get the pulse option up front, it will be too expensive to add later.
go to www.millerwelds.com and you can get all of the data on both models. In general the dynasty 200 inverter will be smaller,lighter,better arc quality, more programmable, more power efficient, higher priced, but have a lot less AMPS than the synchrowave 250--200 vs 300 amps. It all depends on what combination of the above characteristics are most important to you. To some it is the $$, to you it may not be. That's up to you to decide. If you want to compare two 300 amp machines, then look at the dynasty 300 vs. synchrowave 250. As usual, I will add that there are other manufacturers who make tig welders, and I'm sure some of their satisfied customers will be chiming in shortly.
